The AlterCenter is our high security data centre buried deep underground
in a secret location on a small uninhabited island in the middle of
nowhere. The centre houses some of the most bizarre data know to man,
a single pin sized leak in the port holes storage grid could literally
turn space time inside out and upside down.
The building was constructed using the finniest tools
and materials we could afford and could quite possibly survive an
earthquake. Its temperature and humidity is controlled 24x7x365 by
redundant cooling systems. It is protected against fire by a state-of-the-art
pre-action fire suppression system and is secured by multiple access
controls of personal code, swipe cards, voice recognition, hand and
retinal scanners.
The center is powered by our very own kit built advanced
gas cooled nuclear reactor with a net capacity of over 610 MW. Most
of the energy generated is used to maintain the portholes storage
grid located deep underground in the heart of the center and to power
the red light of the all seeing AlterEye.
Our scalable Multi-Gigabit fibre optic network constantly
filters the internet protecting the world from uncontrollable outbursts
and strange goings on.
A few intresting facts:
-
The center is controlled by approximately 16,140
buttons, 11,105 switches, 8,040 dials, and 3,023 leavers.
-
There is approximately 11072 miles of cabling
in the building.
-
There is only one entrance.
-
Over 950 rolls and 20 different colours of gaffer
tape where used in the construction of the center.
